FUTURE HOMES COMPETIOTION

Rapidly growing population of Victoria with a huge multicultural impact brings new challenges and a need of exploration of the new ways of living. Traditional expansion of infrastructure of new suburbs containing of family homes is just not going to do it anymore. The demographic change is another huge factor effecting modern lifestyle of Victorian residence. The exploration and restructure of traditional existing suburbs is an obvious answer to all these issues and challenges.

The goal of proposed design is a creation of sustainable easy built living spaces capable of accommodating the needs of constantly growing, changing and challenging needs of Australian neighbourhood residents, lifting the traditional suburb life style to the new level of neighbourhood living.

SUSTAINABLE ARCHITECTURE

Although comprehensive sustainability assessments are usually conducted at the later stages of the projects our proposed designs include number of sustainability measures that could be beneficial to the developments. We are looking at alternative sources of power, carefully select building fabrics and  materials, adapt provision for petrol free means of transportation.
Use of external landscaping and internal different types of vertical gardens is another big part of the design idea. We use greenery not only as decorative interior elements but internal and external screening providing comfortable shade of the communal roof space and balconies, preventing neighbours overlooking externally and internally, providing so limited today privacy.

When our original architect failed to provide us with town planning drawings we approached ArchIdeA Design Group without any hope to have our project submitted in time. To our amasment in two weeks time we received whole set of town planning drawing with design of the apartments seriously improved.
